Native: Japan, China and Korea

Location: Grown in small and large gardens.

Will grow much larger in native environment. A huge number of cultivated varieties have been produced.


Leaves are 5-7 lobed, deeply cut, and turn red and purple in autumn.

Flowers are small 0.6-0.8cm opening in early April in erect clusters.
