Needles form 2 rows, the upper ones being shorter, often producing dense, luxurious looking foliage.

Cones are produced late April, males on branches all over crown, females only at the top.

Mature Cones

Mature cones are 15cm, green and resinous through the summer, ripening to brown in October.
