Native: Mountains of southern Greece.

Planted for ornament in large gardens.

Foliage

The needles radiate from all sides of the twigs. This combined with the resinous buds and bracts on the cones makes the Greek Fir unmistakable.

Pollen and Seed Cones

Male and female cones open in April. Males are red, turning yellow and females are green, about 25mm long.
