Prunus persica (Peach)
Location: Grown in China, europe and eastern North America for its sweet fleshy fruit.
Believed to be native to China, but cultivated for so long its origins are obscure.
Leaves are narrow, widest at or above the middle.
Flowers open in April, 2.5-3.7cm across.
Fruits are round and fleshy, about 5-7.5cm across with velvety skin, sweet yellow flesh and a ridged stone.
