An ornamental garden cherry, believed to be a hybrid between Prunus sargentii and Prunus subhirtella, making a small tree with spreading branches.

Leaves are deciduous deeply toothed and colour red and yellow in autumn.

Flowers open in March about 4cm across with 12-15 petals.
